Amar Ujala Foundation laid the foundation to provide Mid Term Shelters to the flood victims of Uttarakhand. The initial phase of providing Mid Term Shelters to those who have lost their houses completely in the flood in the areas adjoining Guptkashi, Tharali, Tilwada, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi has already started.
In the first phase 27 masons from the respective villages were called and trained to make the Mid Term Shelters. At present these masons have started building one-one model Mid Term Shelter each at village. These five Mid Term Shelter would be ready by the end of December in Sirora village in Uttarkashi, Khumaira in Guptkashi, Jaili in Tilwada and Chhapali and Bhyadi in Tharali.
In the second phase starting in January 2014, 50 Mid Term Shelters in 7 villages would be constructed. The details are as follows
