About Amar Ujala Foundation
Amar Ujala Limited's Amar Ujala Foundation (AUF) is dedicated to empowering underserved communities to create a better future through corporate social responsibility (CSR). AUF was started in 2012 and is dedicated to education, empowerment of women, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. The Atul Maheshwari Scholarship, its flagship, is intended for students who are meritorious and come from economically challenging backgrounds. In addition, the foundation promotes vocational training for women, and encourages environmental initiatives. The aim of AUF is to uplift marginalized sections, foster inclusive growth, and transform lives in North India through community engagement and strategic partnerships.
I am proud to share our unwavering commitment towards building a prosperous society and shaping a hopeful future, particularly for those most in need. Over the past year, our team orchestrated approximately 5,364 transformative activities across 22 units, extending our reach to even the most remote corners of the nation and touching countless lives.
Our flagship event, Shabd Samman, celebrates the profound beauty of Indian languages and the richness of our cultural heritage. This year, it was my privilege to witness a rare and moving violin performance by three generations—N. Rajam, her daughter, the eminent Sangeeta Shankar, and her granddaughter, Ragini Shankar, bringing tradition and artistry together in front of an enthusiastic audience.
AUF believes in a world where inclusion is a standard, not a choice. Our goal is to support people with special needs by providing them with fair opportunities in education, and personal development. We are dedicated to overcoming obstacles and promoting a community that values diversity and treats everyone with compassion. We aim to improve the overall well-being and promote self-sufficiency to create an inclusive tomorrow.
AUF believes in providing equal care, respect, and access to education to every child, regardless of their background or abilities. Our strategy involves combining empathy & ingenuity to develop initiatives that cater to the needs of children. We committed to making enduring changes that benefit students, achieved through collaboration with communities & renowned educators. They aim to build a better world where every child is assisted in reaching their full potential.
The Foundation operates across six states and two union territories (Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and New Delhi) covered by Amar Ujala. By working within these regions, the Foundation offers a sense of hope and provides opportunities for millions of individuals living in both urban areas and remote villages. Through a wide-reaching network and focused programs, we aim to provide education and empowerment to those who are most in need. Our impact is greatest at the grassroots level, where it is truly needed. Our dedication to inclusivity and sustainability ensures that every child, family, and community receives the support they require. Our influence extends beyond just geographical boundaries; it is deeply human, creating long-lasting change each day.
